Artist in Residence

Ross Potter.jpg

We are thrilled to welcome Ross Potter as the Artist in Residence for the 2025 Dalwallinu Arts Festival.

Ross is a Kamilaroi artist based in Walyalup/Fremantle, known for his breath taking graphite drawings that capture the beauty and fragility of the world around us. His highly detailed, often large-scale works bring attention to the intricate details of everyday life, making us pause and reflect.

You may recognize Ross’s work from:

  •  Tricia the Elephant – a life-size drawing for Fremantle Arts Centre’s Animaze: Amazing Animals for Kids

  • WHALE – a stunning piece displayed at Boola Bardip WA Museum for High Tide 17 Fremantle Biennale

With natural decay as a recurring theme, Ross’s art challenges us to rethink our relationship with nature and the environment. His career includes multiple residencies—from Cossack Art Award (2019) to Iceland (2024)—and numerous accolades, including being a Lester Prize finalist and winner of the Leonora Art Prize (2019).

We can’t wait to see the incredible work Ross creates during his time in Dalwallinu! Stay tuned for updates on his residency and upcoming workshops.
